New versions of Kyoto arrive through Shopify's standard theme update: in Online Store > Themes, Kyoto shows an update notice, and the new version is added to your theme library as a copy. Your published theme stays as it is until you publish the new version. See How do I update Kyoto?
Each entry lists what changed for merchants. Settings that were added, renamed or moved are named as they appear in the theme editor.

The first version of Kyoto.
- One preset, Kyoto, for home goods, craft and lifestyle shops.
- 100 sections and over 150 blocks, including the interlocking hero, product shelf, stacked cards, color field collection lists, feature spreads, gift guide, lookbook and shoppable videos.
- Product page with eleven gallery styles including the color field stage and the figure, a size ruler, a museum label, icons with text from Small to Extra large, variant cards, gift wrap, delivery estimate and a sticky buy bar.
- Collection page with Shopify filters, sorting, a column switcher, promo tiles, a color field shelf banner and a grid look with color fields.
- Cart drawer, cart page and cart pop-up with free shipping progress, gift wrap and messages, noshi, requested delivery dates, recommendations and a terms checkbox.
- Search panel with predictive search, and live results for Japanese, Chinese and Korean.
- Motion settings for the whole store and each section, respecting reduced motion.
- Storefront and theme editor text in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, Italian, German and Spanish.
